Who's Online

Following a news bulletin on BBC West Midlands on the 20th November 2008, where it was reported that this former Art Deco ballroom and entertainment centre was soon to be demolished, I went hotfoot to Nuneaton to get some final pictures before the demolition ball removed this building from Queens Road forever.

I have received two photographs from Darren of Belper, who was given these pictures when he owned the cafe in the Bus Station. They show fascinating views of Trent Motor Tractions Booking Office in 1961 and 1962 respectively.

Whilst travelling around the West Midlands area of the UK, I have collected some old painted signs for Barber’s and Twining’s Tea, where a girl called ‘Little Miss Barber’ is illustrated carrying a cup of steaming hot tea. They appear from Aston in Birmingham to West Bromwich and also appear to have been painted around the same time period and by the same signwriter. Maybe he had a bike.
